In Memory

Loved her smile :)

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are doing well, I am doing good. Three years ago today Wendy Pierce, Briana's other grandmother, lost her battle to cancer. To know Wendy was to love her. At her service there was standing room only, a tribute to her life and how she lived it. She liked everyone and everyone liked her. And on that day it really changed me, I took a look at myself and realized I needed to be more like her, and so I was blessed to have had her in my life, she made me want to be a better person, less judgmental of those around me. She believed in Angels like me and had them all over her house. She was also a survivor. She had cancer in her 40's and had to have Whipple surgery. Most people don't live after the surgery. She lived 5 yrs after that. Words can never express what it meant to have her there at Dana and Christa's Wedding, To dance that dance with her son. She adored Christa as much as I adore Dana. We had some happy times together in those few years. When Christa and Dana were expecting Briana, Wendy and I were so happy about having a beautiful grandchild together. I was looking forward to the both us spending time together with Bri. Then the cancer came back. She was on her death bed when Christa was due. As the end of her battle drew closer, Christa asked her Doctor is she could be induced a couple of days early so that Wendy could meet her granddaughter that she was so looking forward to having. The Doctor was good enough to do that. And when we called her to tell her that Briana was born she wanted to rush up to the hospital, even on her death bed, that is what an amazing, selfless person she was. Her and Briana spent 24 hours together as they laid in bed together. Wendy knew she was there and said "good job" to Christa and Dana. When I went to say goodbye to Wendy I put an Angel stone in her hand and I told her I would give it to Briana when she was older so she knows to call on you when she is in need of guidance and protection. She had it with her until she passed. One summer too it was funny, all of a sudden Briana started pointing at the Angel statues that Christa and Dana took from Wendy's house and put in their garden, she kept saying Mimi to draw my attention to them. So I took that as a sign from Wendy letting me know she is her guardian Angel and that she is watching over her. Briana does know her and every night she kisses her picture. Her legacy to me is her beautiful children, to know them is to love them too. How we all miss you so much Wendy, but we feel your spirit around us. This is the song she picked to be played at her funeral, so true to her spirit.
Thank you for reading this special post,
Love ya,
Janet :)

When I Get Where I'm Going

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are doing well, I am doing good. I wanted to write this post tomorrow but I cannot stop thinking about Wendy tonight. On Wednesday my son in law Dana will turn 30. I love him so much, he is such a good husband and father. He was his mother's only son. They were so close that I could never put it in words. She was also very close to all of her children and grandchildren. When we first met we hit it off. To know Wendy was to love her. She believed in Angels like me and had them all over her house. She was also a survivor. She had cancer in her 40's and had to have Whipple surgery. Most people don't live after the surgery. She lived 5 yrs after that. How happy were Dana and Christa that she was there to dance at their wedding. She adored Christa as much as I adored Dana. We had so many happy times together in those few years. When Christa and Dana were expecting Briana me and Wendy were in our glory about what a beautiful grandchild we would have together. Then the cancer came back. She was on her death bed when Christa was due. Her doctor induced her so that Wendy could meet Briana before she passed away. They spent 24 hours together when Briana was a day old. Wendy knew she was there and said good job to Christa and Dana. When I went to say goodbye to Wendy I put an Angel stone in her hand and said I would give it to Briana when she is older so she knows to call on you when she is in need of guidance and protection. Last summer all of a sudden Briana started pointing at the Angels that Christa and Dana took from her house and she kept saying Mimmi. So I took that as a sign that she is her guardian Angel. I also promised Wendy on that day as well that I will take care of them and make sure they want or need nothing and I am doing that. I am trying hard to take better care of myself to be here for them as well. On Dana's birthday I will buy him his favorite cake, get him what he needs. Every night Briana kisses a picture of Wendy. She always looks at the wall to the picture of the two of you. Sometimes when I am playing with Bri in front of Dana I have to hide my tears, because it is so unfair that we are not doing it together and he does not have that with you like Christa has with me. At least Bri has your hair. So a part of you physically is here with her. I hope when you got to where you were going you only know true happiness and peace. I am a better person for having you and your family in my life. Miss you so, much, This is the song she picked to be played at her funeral.
Thanks for visiting my blog,
Take Care,
Janet :)

Believe More Than Ever Before

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. I am doing great. It was a great week in Paradise, if you have never been to Aruba and some day you plan a trip I would highly recommend it, but ask me about where we stayed. Some are better than others. When we arrived they gave us a free two bedroom upgrade that had an ocean view which was a minute walk away from us. They have specials every night at their two bars one at the hotel and one on the beach. Two for one etc, barbecue night, great food every time we tried it in their restraints. Everyday the staff at the resort come in and make your bed and clean your room. It was the better than I expected. Today we went to Brianna's 2nd birthday, it was alot of fun. Christa got a bounce house and her and her cousins had alot of laughs. This time of year is always bittersweet. Brianna was born, yet 4 days later her grandmother Wendy died. For those of you who follow me, I don't mean to repeat this part of the story, but something happened today that I have to share and I want to fill in my new readers. When Wendy was in her last days, I went to a store that sells Angel stones. One for guardian etc. For some reason I felt compelled to buy one and when I sat with Wendy in her last day's I placed it in her hand. I whispered in her ear that I would give this Angel stone to Brianna when she is old enough to understand. There it stayed until she passed away. Christa is holding on to it and sometimes I check because I forget easily, you still have it right Christa, Ya mom LOL! Wendy also loved Angels, they were everywhere in her house. So today me and Briana wound up walking over to Christa's little garden that is filled with Wendy's Angel's that were in her garden. Then as we walked away Christa said something she has never said to me before. She told me every time Briana looks at an Angel she says Mimme which is her name for me. It hit me like a bolt of lightning and for a minute I went into shock, then before I could remind Christa she got busy doing other things. I felt Wendy let me know today she knew what I did and yes she is her Angel. It brings a tear to my eye and a smile to face because I truly believe she is watching over Brianna when I am not there and she is still with us at every gathering, Thank you Wendy I believed before, but now more than ever. One other sad note, Wendy's mother had to be taken off life support Friday. She had heart troubles and things went down from there. Her name was Lois and she was a great lady. I know she is with Wendy and her other daughter Judy who passed away a year before Wendy. Rest in peace Lois. I am glad I got to know you in my lifetime.
