Forgive Those Who Trespass Against You

Hi Everyone, I bet this title grabbed your attention LOL! I hope your having a great weekend. I was thinking today about sharing another LK Meditation with all of you. As I picked up the book "The Gift of Loving Kindness Meditation" this page just opened up to me. My Higher Power must truly know me and what I need. Right now in my life I have so much anger and hate towards a few people because of the way they chose to deal with me. I don't like feeling this way, but I feel I was handed a punishment way above and beyond for what my actions were. I was in a blackout for the most part to be honest with all of you, ya about 99 percent of the time, I know it's no excuse, but it is the truth. I would have never done the things I did if I was aware of what I was doing, and I know that because I have not repeated that behavior since I got out of rehab. I have truly never wanted to do anything but love and forgive others that have done wrong by me, so I may receive the same in return. I was raised Catholic, that was instilled in me from a very young age. Of course life does not work out that way for the most part. So this is for all of you too who are working like me to get rid of that hate and anger and move towards forgiveness of others in your life for your own sense of peace inside. I will need to practice this a lot, I know I have a way to go before I get to this place, but at least I'm trying. God knows I have nothing but time to try!!
Thanks for visiting my blog,
Love ya,
Janet :)

Forgive Those Who Trespass Against You

Behind the harmful actions of another person is probably a person in pain, someone whose beauty is eclipsed by inner turmoil. A life story you don't know, for you have never walked in their shoes. You don't know how their life experiences have challanged them. When your in a place of being unable to forgive them try either a formal or informal way of meditation. Simply say to yourself "I just wish others would forgive me for any harm I have caused them, I wish to forgive those who have harmed me" That we may cultivate a kind and loving relationship here in the present." These phrases are meant to arouse the feeling of living-kindness in you. Once the feeling arises, switch from saying the phrase to just simply feeling the loving kindness. If your not in a place yet to fully feel this way towards the ones that harmed you, simply return to the phrases and try again, or try again another day. Progress my friends, not perfection:)
